I can see fine,
Why do I need an eye exam?
Improve Vision
Look Great
Detect Disease
Prevent Vision Loss
Annual eye exams are for more than just glasses! Many people think they see “just fine” because they don’t realize how much better they CAN see with glasses or contact lenses. When we get used to seeing slightly blurry, we may not realize that our vision could be a whole lot better! Annual eye health exams can reveal small prescription changes that can make a huge difference in how you see. If you do need glasses, visit our on-site 9th Ave. Optical. Our opticians can help you select the perfect glasses. You will see well and look great!
If you prefer contact lenses, Dr. Andrew Alpar and Dr. Candace Lipshy are experts in fitting all types of contact lenses: soft disposable, 1-days, lenses for astigmatism, bifocal contacts, and gas permeable contacts. We also specialize in fitting patients with irregular corneas from RK, lasik, keratoconus, and other conditions.
An eye exam can also detect early signs of disease, and not just eye disease. Conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol, Graves disease, and high blood pressure can frequently be suspected from an eye exam! And of course, eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration can be identified during an eye exam. Early diagnosis of these conditions can prevent blindness, and help people to live a longer, more enjoyable life!
